Natures Wrath
The wrath of nature showing it’s might. Lightning striking the ground and a little cloud to cloud action at the same time. Meanwhile nature shows its face in this angry thunderstorm cell. I have always had a weird connection to nature and the afterlife of love ones. This one kind of blew me away, like a storm talking back. I shot this at 13sec exposure because it was my sister’s lucky number and always comes up in my life. Some would say it is unlucky while other would say it is a lucky number. Life can be weird at times but also exciting. The view is from north Longmont looking south towards Boulder in the lower right. Taken on the 4th 2019. Here are my setting for those wondering. 13 sec, f6.3, ISO 640, 28mm. If you choose to do what I do, please be safe out there, lightning is nothing to mess with. You always want to be at a safe distance and not in the middle of a storm. When lightning strikes the ground it seeks out the shortest route to something with a positive charge, this might be a tree, a tall building or if they are a very unlucky, a person. A cloud-to-ground lightning channel can be 2 to 10 miles long. Voltage in a cloud-to-ground strike is 100 million to 1 billion volts.
