Crying Indian Chief Niwot
Crying Chief Niwot - Chief Niwot is said to have first stated the legendary Curse of the Boulder Valley. According to the chief, the curse was its breathtaking landscape: "People seeing the beauty of this valley will want to stay, and their staying will be the undoing of the beauty". The sculpture, symbolically rendered by Steven Weitzman and Tara Brice, was installed in the plaza of the Boulder County Courthouse in December 1980. I added the tear with a straw and some water. The original image was shot on bw film before they moved the Chief and then scanned to digital. One of my first black and whites.
