Fourmile canyon fire burning above north Boulder, Colorado. Windy conditions fueled the blaze 09-06-10 — which originated in Emerson Gulch and was first reported at 10:02 a.m. — and gusts of up to 45 mph hindered crews' ability to attack the flames for most of the day, Boulder County sheriff's Cmdr. Rick Brough said. A extremely fast moving wildfire began at 10:00am on Sept 6th, 2010, at FourMile Canyon Road near Emerson Gulch west of Boulder, the fire has been driven by high winds, closed Highway 19, on both sides between Boulder and Nederland with the wildfire heading northeast. Also reported, fire ash is falling in Boulder. The fire has reportedly already burned several structures and a fire truck that responded to the fire. Responding to fire several air tankers. residents within a 4 mile radius were asked to evacuate their homes. At this date 3500 acres have burned.
