Rain and lightning monsoon passing over the lush Arizona Sonoran desert with giant saguaro cactus. The Sonoran Desert is the only place in the world where saguaro cacti grow. Common animals of the Sonoran Desert include: Banded Gila Monster, Bobcat, Cactus Wren, Coyote, Desert Bighorn, Javelina, Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl, Sonoran Pronghorn Antelope and Sonoran Toad. Common plants of the Sonoran Desert include: Barrel Cactus, Brittle, Bush, Desert Ironwood, Chain Fruit Cholla, Creosote Bush, Crimson Hedgehog Cactus, Ocotillo, Palo Verde, Saguaro Cactus, Soaptree Yucca, Teddybear Cholla (or Jumping Cholla), Triangle-leaf Bursage, and Velvet Mesquite.
