Current Gallery: vilseck-in-bavaria ( piece)
Vilseck. What can I say about Vilseck? I love the place. It's where I spent the best four years of my life (so far, anyway). I lived in Vilseck from March of 2003 until October of 2007. Why was I there? Well you see, Vilseck is also home to a major American Army base, Rose Barracks. When I first arrived, Rose Barracks was occupied by the 3rd Brigade of the First Infantry Division, the famed "Big Red One" which has a storied history, including forcing Omaha Beach on D-Day in World War Two. I was part of 3rd Brigade for most of the time I lived Vilseck, and took part in deployments to Kosovo and Iraq during that time. When I left Vilseck, the Big Red One had gone and had been replaced by the Second Cavalry Regiment, another storied unit with a long history.

Naturally, I remember Vilseck because of my time in the U.S. Army. There's another thing for which I remember my four years spent there: it's the place and time of my life where I really grew up; I had no choice, I was forced to do so or I never would have been able to lead soldiers into battle and bring them all back alive. I also had a lot of great times in Vilseck, and made some incredible friends, both Americans and from all over Europe. Vilseck is centrally located in Europe which makes for easy travel.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my galleries. I hope you enjoy the pictures you find here. Thanks in advance if you decide to purchase any of them. Take care and have a great day.
